Chopard Celebrates The 25th Anniversary of Their Watchmaking Manufacture With A Host Of Fantastic Pieces
This year Chopard asserts its prowess as a watchmaker alongside its already established reputation as a crafter of fine jewellery. As such they have created a watch solely dedicated to celebrating the jubilee of Chopard’s watchmaking manufacture. 25 years since they first set up their watchmaking centre, this year Chopard is also unveiling their very first Jumping hours complication, housed in their L.U.C Quattro collection. Both these watches come with internationally recognised symbols of excellence, namely the Qualite Fleurier on the first piece and the Poinçon de Genève on the other.
L.U.C QF Jubilee
25 years may not be considered a long tenure in the world of watchmaking, but what Chopard has managed to achieve in such a short time is worthy of recognition. Therefore, it makes sense that they would want to celebrate the jubilee of their watchmaking manufacture. To be clear, Chopard itself has been around since 1860, but it was only in 1996 that they put their resources into creating beautiful watches. This L.U.C QF Jubilee can be viewed as the summation of the three cores of Chopard watchmaking and that is technical performance, aesthetic refinement and an enduring attachment to certified watchmaking.
The watch is housed in an elegant 39 mm case with a dial inspired by the Art Deco and Bauhaus movements. Underneath the dial rests the L.U.C 96.09-L movement that offers twin barrels for a massive power reserve of 65 hours. The watch bears the Chronometer certification from the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC) and even very demanding Qualite Fleurier.
L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25
Yet another gorgeous piece to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Chopard is the L.U.C Quattro Spirit 25. This watch marks the debut of the manufacture’s very first jumping hours complication. And this complication is put to good use by minimalizing all the elements of the white grand feu enamel dial, paring it down to the only essential elements—the digital hours indicator at 6 o’clock and a single minute hand that sweeps around the dial each hour.
The 40 mm case is crafted from 18k rose gold and the L.U.C 98.06-L movement is based on Chopard Quattro technology. This means the watch will come with four barrels giving it 192 hours or 8 days of power reserve. All of these technical details combined with its superb finishing has earned the watch the Poinçon de Genève.
L.U.C GMT One and Traveller One in Black
Here are two Chopard classics that are now available with a modern and dynamic black colour scheme. These watches, one with a GMT and the other with a world time function were created with the global jet setter in mind. And with the hopefully imminent end to the global pandemic, these watches will soon find their usefulness once again. The black colour comes from the ceramised titanium case material that is both ultra-light and very hard-wearing.
