Beyond the realm of luxury watches lies the adrenaline-fuelled world of professional cycling, where TUDOR is charting a course that will impact many aspects of this exciting global sport.

Where Horology and Professional Cycling Meet
TUDOR’s role as a timekeeper for the iconic Giro brings a new dimension to its legacy, intertwining the art and science of horology with the exhilarating world of professional cycling. Both arenas demand more than just performance; they require mastery over time and commitment to pushing limits. TUDOR’s latest release highlight its technical expertise and aesthetic mastery, but also its versatility in embracing and enhancing the spirit of adventure in different realms. The excitement generated by TUDOR’s dual engagement in these high-profile worlds reaffirms its status as a multifaceted brand, promising a future where precision meets the pinnacle of human achievement.
The TUDOR Pro Cycling Team at the Giro d’Italia
Captivating audiences around the globe, the Giro is a three-week-long, multiple-stage professional bicycle race and is the world’s second most important stage race after the Tour de France. Celebrated for over a century, the iconic “Maglia Rosa” pink jersey symbolises triumph in this historic annual race that began in 1909. Cycling fans will know that donning the pink jersey is an achievement that’s as lauded by the cycling world as the Tour de France’s yellow jersey.
Renowned for its diverse and tough terrain, technical challenges, and festive atmosphere, the Giro is often regarded as the most challenging and exhilarating event in the world of cycling. As the thrilling race unfolds across Italy’s picturesque landscapes, TUDOR’s timekeeping precision ensures that every second counts, showcasing the brand’s unwavering commitment to excellence and accuracy.
This year also marks a historic moment for the brand as the TUDOR Pro Cycling Team competes in the Giro, which runs from May 4 to 26, for the first time.
The Pelagos FXD Chrono “Cycling Edition”
Professional cycling isn’t for the faint of heart, as the riders’ bodies and minds are pushed to the absolute limit during a race. A watch like TUDOR’s brand-new Pelagos FXD Chrono “Cycling Edition” stands up to the extreme rigours of the sport, while being easy for the rider to operate.
Specifically engineered for riders of the TUDOR Pro Cycling Team, the lightweight, 43mm watch features a black matte-finished carbon composite case with fixed strap bars to ensure durability and performance in the most demanding conditions. While a conventional chronograph’s tachymetric scale is calibrated to the speeds that an automobile is capable of, the scale on the “Cycling Edition” is presented in a way that’s suited for the speeds that cyclists can sustain. The chronograph scale is also “wrapped” around the dial in a spiral, allowing the average speeds that cyclists routinely operate at to be read at a glance.
The matte black dial with red accents, reminiscent of the TUDOR Pro Cycling Team colours, ensures legibility even in challenging conditions. Luminescent ceramic composite hour markers and Snowflake hands ensure optimal visibility, while the re-calibrated tachymeter scale printed on a 45°-angled rehaut (the rim between the dial and crystal) lets cyclists monitor their speeds with precision. Powered by the COSC-certified Manufacture Calibre MT5813, the watch boasts an impressive 70-hour power reserve. With its robust construction and high-performance movement, it is the perfect companion for cyclists seeking to push the limits of endurance and performance.
