The Streamliner Centre Seconds Matrix Green, known as the “Green Dragon” by collectors, is making its much anticipated return, accompanied by a new reference with a striking “Purple Haze” coloured dial.
Released in 2020, this model won plaudits far and wide, quickly becoming an iconic piece. Despite huge demand, H. Moser & Cie. decided to stop taking orders, using the break to further develop the aesthetic and technical features of the timepiece, which now include the transparent lacquer logo and the new self-winding calibre HMC 201. An update sure to transcend expectations and galvanize collectors.
Hours, minutes, centre seconds: A staple classic, the three-hand watch requires expertise of the very highest level, as it is the details that elevate the piece. Balanced, precise proportions are the key to harmony, and the Streamliner Centre Seconds perfectly illustrates this philosophy. Featuring a cushion-shaped steel case with a diameter of 40.0 mm, water-resistant to 12 ATM, it is extraordinarily ergonomic thanks to the perfectly integrated steel bracelet, and the removal of the lugs. The case middle has hollowed and satin-finished forms on the sides, and alternating brushed and polished surfaces, in a nod to the traditionally unusual shapes typical of Moser cases. It is topped by a subtly domed sapphire crystal, echoed by the see-through case back. Extending these curves, the integrated steel bracelet is elegantly arced to follow the line of the wrist. Highly complex in construction, this bracelet has extremely fluid lines, based on organic forms. All the links are articulated and feature a gentle wave combining a vertical brushed finish with polished surfaces. A true technical feat, this bracelet is a masterpiece of sophistication, with flexibility to match.
Balanced proportions, fluid forms, high-end finishes: every part of the Streamliner Centre Seconds is in perfect harmony. Enthusiasts are sure to recognise the Matrix Green fumé dial which enhances the case beautifully. Vibrant, almost electric, it dazzles with a complex palette of shades from olive green to red gold, bringing the final touch to the timeless elegance of this model. In parallel, H. Moser & Cie. is also offering another brand-new colourway in the Streamliner collection, an intense purple with blue reflections, named “Purple Haze”. Whether green or purple, the dial features the brand’s logo in transparent lacquer, like a secret signature. Displaying the hours and minutes, the 3D hands are formed of two sections and feature inserts made from Globolight®, an innovative ceramic-based material which contains Super-LumiNova®.
Beating at the heart of the Streamliner Centre Seconds model is a 100% Swiss mechanical Manufacture movement: the HMC 201 self-winding calibre. This movement replaces the HMC 200, providing clever updates such as a wider opening onto the mechanism through partially skeletonised bridges, combined with a highly contemporary anthracite grey finish. This opening allows the gear train, central seconds and bidirectional automatic winding system wheels to be viewed, while the rotor has also been bevelled so as not to obstruct the view of the movement, which still guarantees a power reserve of at least 3 days.
